Bryony May Operations & Governance Manager (Deputy CEO)

Bryony joined Age & Opportunity as our Operations and Governance Manager (Deputy CEO) in April 2023. She is responsible for the operational management of the organisation, governance and compliance and project management. Bryony works proactively as a member of the SMT, supporting the implementation of the organisation’s strategy and the work of the CEO.

Bryony previously worked for Fermanagh & Omagh District Council as their Arts Manager, and prior to this was the Director of Green Hat, a community-based consultancy providing research and evaluation, project management and training and development to public and Third Sector clients across Northern Ireland, southern border counties and Dublin.

Prior to relocating back home to Fermanagh in 2002, Bryony was a Project Manager and HR Advisor for Diageo, General Manager for Radioville and the Arts Service Manager for London Borough of Hillingdon. In 2017, she was also Visiting Professor at the Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict, Drew University, New Jersey, delivering a course on Grassroots Peacebuilding in Northern Ireland for Masters and Doctoral students.

Bryony volunteers with parkrun as an Ambassador for various events in counties Cavan, Monaghan and Fermanagh, including one in an Irish Prison Service facility. She also serves on the Board of Governors at St Mary’s Primary School, Maguiresbridge.

She holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Open University Business School, Certificate in Holocaust Education from TCD and a Diploma in Peace-Building & Community Development Practice from NUI Galway.
