Active Programme FitLine Coordinator

Meg joined Age & Opportunity in May 2023 as our Active Programme FitLine Coordinator. She is responsible for leading on the further development and nationwide expansion of our FitLine initiative; the recruitment, training and support of new volunteer mentors; and promoting FitLine to local agencies and partner organisations to encourage referrals of new participants.

Meg has always worked in the non-profit sector and has many years’ experience coordinating community services for Mind in the UK, including Mental Health Befriending services and Physical Health checks promotion. Meg has also worked as a teacher (Community Mental Health, and Health and Social Care) in further education.

Meg has an honours degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin.

Meg has always had an interest in supporting people to take steps to promote their own wellbeing, and in a participatory way of working, so that stakeholders are involved in decisions being made.
