We’re looking forward to welcoming Ed Watts, the Head of Civic Engagement and Education at the Whitworth, part of the University of Manchester. Ed will be talking about older men’s participation in the arts. This interest in the traditionally under-represented audience of older men within arts and cultural activities, follows his commissioning of the Handbook for Cultural Engagement with Older Men, published by the Whitworth in 2014. Ed travelled across the UK researching older men’s participation in cultural activity to produce the publication designed to provide a foundation for future programmes and methodologies when working with older men.
Read the Handbook for Cultural Engagement with Older Men here.
He’ll join an exciting line up of speakers, including keynote speaker Patricia Scanlan, who we hope will encourage and inspire the community of event organisers, artists, partners and supporters of our Bealtaine Festival.
Tickets are €10 and on sale now: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/bealtaine-gathering-2022-tickets-423515595547
